Lifeline is a 24/7 suicide prevention hotline for people who are experiencing emotional distress or crisis. 

Kids Helpline is a free, private and confidential telephone and online counselling service for young people aged 5 to 25 in Australia. 

The Men’s Referral Service is a support service for men who are seeking to change their abusive behaviour. It is also available to family and friends who are impacted and want to know how to support men who are using violence to change. 

Next Chapter is a service provided by the Commonwealth Bank to provide crisis support and referrals for people who have experienced financial abuse. You can access the service no matter who you bank with. 

ACON is a LGBTQI+ health organisation offering information, referrals, counselling, advocacy and practical support for LGBTQI+ people in NSW, including those experiencing domestic or family violence. 

Gunnedah Family Support offers assistance to families facing challenges such as children's behavior problems, financial difficulties, training or employment issues, and household routines. Our services include support, advocacy, advice, information, and referrals. We work closely with clients to connect them with additional services in Gunnedah and beyond.

The Aboriginal Corporation offers housing and support programs for members of the aboriginal community.
 

If your situation is NOT an emergency but you need to contact the police, you can call the Police Assistance Line. The Line is available 24/7 to report crimes, or to make general police enquiries.

Full Stop provides online or telephone support, counselling and information for anyone in Australia who is experiencing, or has experienced domestic or family violence.

13YARN provides 24/7 culturally safe crisis support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are feeling overwhelmed or worried. 

Wirringa Baiya provides legal information, advice, casework, education and advocacy for Aboriginal women and children who are victim-survivors of violence in NSW.

Beyond Blue Support Service is available 24/7 for brief counselling. Most calls last around 20 minutes.

 

Homes North is a community housing provider that offers temporary accommodation, community housing, and assistance to those in need.

Multicultural Women's Association is a newly setup organisation, working to empower the women from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background everywhere, especially in regional and rural areas of New South Wales

Link2Home can help if you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The service provides information, conducts assessments and makes referrals to homelessness services across NSW.

The NSW Sexual Violence Helpline provides 24/7 telephone and online counselling for anyone in NSW who has experienced or is at risk of sexual violence.

Women’s Legal Service NSW provides free, confidential legal advice and referrals to women in NSW, with a focus on family law, parenting issues, domestic violence, sexual assault and discrimination.

Winangali offers a range of support services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including child care, out-of-home care, community programs, and Aboriginal language services.

The NSW Domestic Violence Line provides 24/7 crisis intervention services for women (with or without children) who are experiencing domestic or family violence, including crisis counselling, advocacy and referrals.

RSPCA NSW offers practical solutions for pet owners leaving situations of domestic violence. They can house and care for pets while their owners find safe accommodation, with the aim of reuniting them with their pet as soon as possible.

QLife offers free telephone and web-based counselling, referrals and support for LGBTQI+ people and their families. You can call or chat to them from 3pm – 12am every day. 

Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Services (WDVCAS) provides free and confidential information, assistance and court advocacy services to women, non-binary people and children who are experiencing domestic and family violence in NSW.
